President of the United States

The President of the United States (POTUS) is the head of state and head of government of the United States of America. The President directs the executive branch of the federal government and is the commander-in-chief of the United States Armed Forces.

In contemporary times, the President is looked upon as one of the world's most powerful political figures and as the leader of the only remaining global superpower. The role includes responsibility for the world's most expensive military that has the second largest nuclear arsenal. The President also leads the nation with the largest economy by nominal GDP. The President possesses significant domestic and international hard and soft power.

The feature was implemented on November 3rd, for the Open Alpha alongside the Vice President.

In order to run for primaries, you must have 40% National Reputation.

As of March 22, 2024 May 12, 2023 there have been 77 Presidencies. There have been 39 Democratic Presidencies, 29 Republican Presidencies, 2 Libertarian Presidencies, 4 Democratic Socialist Presidencies and 3 Forward Party Presidencies. President Obama Care having been the only President to switch his party midway through his term during the 32nd Presidency, and such action being patched out by the devs.

The most terms served as President is held conjointly by the 1st and 5th President Patrick Higgins, 7th and 9th President Skyler Mizuki and the 13th and 26th President Blake Stone. who each served 4 terms. Higgins served the longest at 167 days, compared to Mizuki's 52 days and Stone's 42 days. Patrick Higgins also holds the record for most Vice Presidents with 3 different ones: Melody Grant, Kyrstin Sinema, and Jane Goodall.

Presidential History

In regards to the legacy of Presidents, specific laws have never held much stature or record. There are too many pieces of legislation, and since there's no actual in-game "operation" of said bills, the incentive to record them has always been absent. By far, a President's legacy is usually determined by the length of office, non-consecutive terms, election, speciality of the candidate themselves, etc.

The first President, Patrick Higgins, largely benefitted from the game's "development stages." Battle for the Hill was largely considered "irrelevant" and a "meme from 2018 to 2020." The sixth President for example, John Logs, served at a time when the game was almost fully dead. In terms of legitimacy and activity, Skyler Mizuki is often considered the leading contender for "first modern President," who presided over an era of a gigantic change to the interface of the game. Previously, BFTH's gimmicky interface and code (often compared to Power's) was so basic that it's not surprising much of the records pre-2021 is lost.
